NetConsole/Timesheet FAQ's - Tips and Tricks
- Avoid opening two or more sessions at the same time on the same
PC. ie. Do not login to NetConsole using two browsers on the same
machine at the same time. The session ID and cookie-related variables
may get confused.
- Periodically restart the CF server, say, every two or three weeks.
- Clean up the cache (Temporary Internet Files) on your users IE
browsers periodically, and set the "Check for newer version of stored
pages" option to "Every Visit to the page" under Tools ---> Internet
Options ---> General ---> Temporary Internet Files ---> Settings.
- Every time you assign a user to a group(s), you need to have that
user to logout and login to the system in order to have this new group
assignment take effect.
- If you turned on the "Audit Trail" feature, remember to backup
"Usage.txt" under /NetConsole Dir/SysAdmin/AuditTrail/ periodically
to avoid a huge file size build up. Rename the file to "Usage_date",
for example, and the system will automatically create a new "Usage.txt"
the next time you use it.
- Test your Email server connection between CF and your SMTP email
server to make sure your Timesheet Reminder and Late TS notice is functional.
