NetConsole/Timesheet FAQ's - General

  • Q. Is NetConsole/Timesheet a web-enabled application? We don't have a web server, can we still use your product?

    A. Yes, NetConsole/Timesheet is a totally web-based time tracking and billing system. If you don't have a web server, you can choose to subscribe to our ASP services("Subscription Plan"). The Subscription Plan requires no server set-up on your side, the only required tool for your users is a web browser (IE or Netscape).

    If you do have your own web server, you can choose our Purchase Plan which you'll buy it and install on your own web server (requires IIS Server, Cold Fusion, and SQL Server).

  • Q. What is the price of NetConsole/Timesheet for more than 100 users?

    A. If you choose Purchase Plan, NetConsole/Timesheet costs $2,499.00 for the first 100 licensed users. For each additional license pack (50 users), the price is $300.00. So, if you have 150 users, your cost will be $2,799 ($2,499 + $300).

    With the Purchase Plan for 100 users and more, you will receive up to 20 hours free toward your customizations. You will receive one-year free technical support and upgrades. If your organization is non-profit, your will receive a discount for 20% off the list price. For educational institutions, we will give you 30% off the listing price.

    If you choose Subscription Plan, NetConsole/Timesheet's 100-user license pack costs only $3 per person per month for 100 users ($300 per month for 100 users). If you have 300 users, you can purchase our 300-user license pack which is $2 per person per month (or $600 per month for 300 users).

  • Q. What is the licensing fee for 10 users or fewer?

    A. For the Purchase Plan, NetConsole/Timesheet costs only $399.00 for 1-10 licensed users. For each additional license pack (10 users), the price is $249.00. So, if you have 20 users, your cost is $648 ($399 + $249).

    Although your will not receive 20 hours free customizations for fewer than 100 users, you will still receive one-year free technical support and upgrades. We still offer 20% off for non-profit organizations and 30% off for educational institutions.

  • Q. Can we define different menu items for different users according to their different roles ?

    A. Yes. Our menu navigation system can easily be configured to allow users to see different modules according to their group privileges. If a user doesn't need the access to the billing and payroll functions, those features can be deactivated easily using the "Access Control" function in the "SysAdmin" module.

  • Q. Are the Client, Project, and Task hierarchical?

    A. Yes, they are hierarchical. You create a Client, and within that Client, you create different Projects. For each Project, you can create as many Tasks as you want.

  • Q. What would be the delivery delay to our Belgian offices?

    A. There will be no delay on the delivery no matter where you are. You will download the NetConsole/Timesheet software directly from our download sites once we received your full payment.

  • Q. What is the Billing/Payroll Module?

    A. Billing/Payroll modules are basically for generating Timesheet reports for Billing and Payroll purposes. Billing reports give you detail information on hours entered, charge rates and total amount charged to Charge Codes, Projects, Time Periods, or Employees. Payroll reports give you the capability to analyze how profitable each employee is. Both Billing and Payroll modules have Output facility to output timesheet data for further process.

  • Q. What is the Expense Report Module?

    A. Expense Report Module is used by employees to submit their Expense Reports for their reimbursable expenses, such as airline tickets, lodging costs, rental cars, tips, ...etc. Similar to Timesheet module, one can submit their Expense Requests to their supervisors to get approval, or ask for reimbursement.

  • Q. Is there any import utility that can be used to load the data (i.e. users, clients, projects, tasks) into NetConsole/Timesheet ? Can this be done on an ongoing basis (i.e. the beginning of a month) or is it only possible upon initial implementation?

    A. We have a standard importing utility upon request to import vast amount of data for Projects, Tasks, Clients, and Users. This importing utility may require some customizations to fit your specific data type and/or formats.

  • Q. Can NetConsole/Timesheet allow us to keep history for past employees ? Do they (past employees) consider as "system users" in counting toward the licensing seats ?

    A. Yes, employees' historical timesheet data will stay in the system for reviewing, reporting, accounting and auditing purposes. Only "Active" users will be counted toward the number of licenses.

  • Q. How easy is it to customize NetConsole/Timesheet for my company?

    A. NetConsole/Timesheet comes with many default customization options. You can:

    • Replace the top banner image with your own company's logo
    • Change the background colors to match your Intranet Sites in Menu Bar, Main display areas and Left Frame windows.
    • Update the Display Test in the Main Display Areas when you click on the Modules
    • Use your own customized image buttons to replace the default menu buttons in Graphical mode
    • Update the default Email Messages when submitting, approving, or disapproving Timesheets

    If you need additional product customization, we will provide the service for you based on T&M. Please request a quote from us should you have a need to customize the product. With the purchase of 100 user's licenses or more, we will give you up to 20 free hours toward your customization items.

  • Q. Are there any routine tasks that an administrator must continuously (i.e. weekly, monthly) undertake in order to maintain the product?

    A. After the initial setup, an administrator only needs to add new users, define new groups, add new customers and create new charge codes when the need arises. A periodical system back up and server tuning may be necessary as you would do for your other applications.

  • Q. Can I just buy Timesheet module?

    A. Starting from version 4.5wmx, we only sell full version. Since the new version has many features and functionality tied together across different modules, we no longer offer the option to purchase by modules.
